Marine Weather On-Demand is an automated SMS notification service providing marine weather forecasts, coastal observations, and offshore conditions upon user request. When you send an SMS query containing a location or weather command to our designated service number, our system responds with an automated weather forecast reply.
By initiating an incoming SMS message (e.g., texting a location or forecast command) to our dedicated service phone number, you explicitly consent to receive automated response text messages from this service. This service operates strictly on an on-demand, transactional request-and-response basis.
Message frequency varies based on your interactions. You will receive 1 response message for every 1 request message sent. We do not send recurring, unsolicited, or promotional broadcast messages.
Standard message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to or received from us in connection with this service. Check with your mobile wireless carrier for details regarding your specific text messaging and data plan rates.
You may opt out or unsubscribe from receiving text messages at any time. To cancel or block future messages, reply or text STOP to our service number. Upon sending STOP, you will receive a single confirmation message confirming your opt-out status, and no further messages will be sent unless you re-initiate a request.
For assistance or technical support, text HELP to our service number, or contact us directly via email at [Your Support Email Address] or by phone at [Your Support Phone Number].
The service is compatible with major US mobile wireless carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile®, and Sprint. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Marine weather forecasts are provided "as-is" for informational purposes only. Do not rely solely on automated SMS weather notifications for critical safety-of-life at sea or navigation decisions. Always cross-reference official National Weather Service (NWS) / NOAA marine broadcasts and standard maritime safety information.
Effective Date: August 24, 2026
When you use our Marine Weather SMS service, we collect the mobile phone number from which the request originates, the contents of the incoming text message (e.g., location queries or keywords), and timestamp metadata. We collect this information solely to process your request and return the accurate marine forecast data.
We use your mobile phone number and query details exclusively for:
Generating and delivering the requested marine weather forecast.
Maintaining service operational stability, basic transaction logging, and error debugging.
Processing mandatory system keywords (such as STOP and HELP).
Strict Non-Sharing Policy: No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Message and data rates may apply for any SMS messages sent to or received from our service number. You are responsible for any charges levied by your mobile carrier.
Message frequency is event-driven and on-demand. You will receive one text response per incoming request. No scheduled or recurring automated broadcast messages are transmitted by this system.
We utilize Twilio Inc. as our cloud communications provider to transmit incoming and outgoing text messages. Information transmitted to Twilio is handled strictly for routing and deliverability purposes in accordance with Twilio's security standards.
We retain mobile log data (phone number, request text, timestamp) only as long as necessary for technical log maintenance, operational troubleshooting, and legal compliance. We implement reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your phone number from unauthorized access.
